Why I Started Freelance Photography
I’ve always been a creative-minded person; my head was always lost in the clouds of daydreaming. Growing up, it was very annoying for my teachers and parents to daydream all the time because of how focused I would be on imagining new stories to entertain myself instead of listening to my elders. I don’t daydream as often these days, but the feeling of creating something original, outlandish, and fun has always been in me and will continue to be.
Now I started photography because it’s a beautiful way to give a vision of how you see the world in one of the most direct ways: a photo. When I see photography, at least good, creative photography, I see a story. I think the best photos are the photos that tell the most creative story, the best message, or theme. After all, that is what all art is, whether it's writing, theatre, film, dancing, or music: it’s all storytelling. Every creative artist expresses a story of how they view and understand the human condition.
Photography is my first step into that world of creation; I want to one day continue onto other artistic mediums like film and writing. However, photography is a significant first step to understanding my artistic style and the type of stories I want to create. An image is a straightforward story, but if the shot is done right and edited well, then there can be a lot of power put behind that simple story.
